If you’re missing teeth, dental implants can greatly benefit your smile. However, you may not have enough bone mass in your jaw required for regular implants. Fortunately, Dr. Wolf and The Foehr Group in Bloomington, IL offers another option with mini dental implants!
Mini implants are slightly smaller than regular implants, but they can still support most replacement teeth, including fixed bridges, crowns, and dentures.
At our Bloomington, IL office, we can place mini implants in just one visit. We’ll then fix temporary replacement teeth to the implants, so you can start enjoying your new smile that same day! Call us now to find out more.
If you’re seeking to make a large commitment to your smile, please check out our full-mouth reconstruction options.
Dr. Wolf is an alumna of University of Iowa where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1981. He also achieved a fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry and American Society for Dental Aesthetics.
The Many Benefits of Mini Implants
In addition to fixing your smile, mini dental implants offer plenty of other benefits, including:
- Lower cost than traditional implants
- A less-invasive placement procedure (which can happen in one visit)
- No requirement for bone grafting
- The ability to secure dentures using only a few implants
- Shorter recovery time
The Mini Dental Implant Process
The Foehr Group dental team will first use 3D images to get a detailed look at your entire mouth so we can better plan your treatment. We’ll then apply local anesthesia to prevent you from feeling any discomfort. Dr. Wolf also offers dental sedation options to ensure you’re fully relaxed.
Dr. Wolf will then place the mini implants in your jaw using computer-guided surgery. Each mini implant will consist of a titanium post with an attachment on the end, which is used to hold your replacement tooth or teeth in place.
Caring For Your Mini Dental Implants
Mini implants are as easy to care for as natural teeth! Simply brush your new teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and floss once a day. It’s best to use a soft-bristled toothbrush for increased comfort.
If you have implant dentures attached to mini implants, these can be taken out and cleaned like traditional dentures. Dr. Wolf will provide specific instructions for your situation to ensure your smile lasts for years.
